Life is too precious to just sit around in your comfort zone waiting for something to happen.
So Mary decided to do something about it.
Most of us have a dream that, when we grow up, we want to do something great, to be successful or even to be someone famous. Mary was no different. That is, until she set foot in one of her class in University, and heard a lecture that mentioned the number of less fortunately children in other parts of the world that dies per minute; it have forever changed her life.
Her heart was stirred.
She cried, soaking up the fact that these precious lives never got a chance to live to their fullest. She prayed and prayed for hours. It is then, she received the vision and the heart of the our Father God, which gave her the courage to not once, but twice visited far places in South America and Africa; to go deep into places where most of us would never dare to set foot to, just to fulfill the desire that God had transcribed into Mary’s heart.
Now Mary is back, and carries even greater heart for the family she had learned to love and care for during the nine months while she was in Rwanda. Even though she cannot physically be there with them right this moment, but she is still set on a mission to raise awareness on behalf of the children in Rwanda.
“This Garage Sale that we are having is not really just about raising funds for the Children.” Said Mary. “It is more about raising awareness that these children exists, and I hope that they will have a place in your hearts as they have in mine.”
In the video, Mary shared about what she learned about herself while she was abroad, as well as how she was able to over come her fear of the unknown and her own emotions. It is truly inspirational to us all.
