A groomsman is one of the male attendants to the groom in a wedding ceremony. Usually, the groom selects close friends and relatives to serve as groomsmen, and it is considered an honor to be selected. From his groomsmen, the groom usually chooses one to serve as best man.
So it has been two months since our wedding, life have been settling back down to a point that we can continue to share about our wedding. For this installment, we are doing a post on Roy’s groomsman.
I am a firm believer that God sends angels into your lives to support you, to carry you, and to give you a lift when you needed the most. For each of the three groomsman, I feel they each exemplifies a different aspect of the three things that God has commanded us to look forward to, to give us the strength and courage to carry on in our lives. Meet the groomsmen! Rex, Keven, and Andy!
I have known Andy for close to nine years now, and I have seen him gradually transform throughout the yeas that I’ve known him. He is a exemplary display of faith, and the transformation that he underwent is the perfect testament. There are numerous occasions that we have shared about the problems that we faced in life, and the experiences that we have endured whether it be from home, work, or the environment itself. But everytime, Andy would say that he can only do so much, and he can only pray about it, and leave the result in God’s hands. I have never heard from him any complains about the work that God is doing in his life, and he would always look at his life as a work in progress and give his praises to God.
Surely, his strong faith in God have made him prevail against many difficult situations in life, and I believe it had tailored him into a good man of God, one that can be counted upon by his friends and family for the days to come.
Next we have Keven, and even though I’ve known him for the least amount of time between the three, but we have been able to click and form a good bond right away. To me, Keven exemplifies the Hope that we have in God. What as quickly apparent to me when I first meet Keven is that he sometimes just wouldn’t take no for an answer, and that is not necessary a negative thing that many people have made it out to be. He is always filled with critical thinking toward the things in life, to come up with different suggestions and alternatives in attempts to make something better. He is not always satisfied with his life with the attitude that ‘it is fine just the way it is’, and would always look for ways that would enhance it and live it to the fullest.
There is always hope in him, because he believes that God have a plan for us, to make us better, to make us fuller, and to allow us to live our lives to the fullest.
Then there is Rex, my best man for the wedding. With Rex, love is not how he would do things or lend you a hand when you need help, but it is the life that is in him that makes you feel safe to be around, and know that you can always count on him when you need someone. We have known each other for about seven to eight years, but it is only the last five years or so that we began to form strong relationship where we could lean on each other for support. In this time, I began to think of him as someone that I could turn to when I needed support, to share my issues in life, and know that he would accept me not for what I have accomplished, but for who I am. I think, as we both began to understand the true meaning of God’s unconditional love, it have helped us become better friend for one an other, where we could help each other grow mentally and Spiritually.
To me, that’s love, God’s love, where you have unconditional support for one an other; it’s a bond that inserts growth into each other’s life, and empowers each other to strive to become better.
